I can’t access my email account, what should I do?

  1. First Question – can you get into Office 365?
  2. If yes, can you click on the MAIL tile and see your mail?
  3. If you can access Office 365, but can’t see your email – try using a different browser (Chrome or Firefox). Especially if you have more than one Office 365 account – sometimes your computer gets confused.
  4. If no:
  5. Ensure you have the correct email address
  6. You can verify this in your student portal. If your student portal does not yet display your @student.ashford.edu email address, please give it a little time. We don’t update the portal until your account is licensed – which can take up to 24 hours of you activating your account
  7. Ensure you have the correct url
  8. https://portal.office.com (the s makes a big difference!)
  9. Try resetting your password
  10. Please go to your student portal, and click the Forgot Password link. Go through the instructions. This will change your password for BOTH your student portal and Office 365 account.
  11. If you are still having trouble, you can put in a support ticket from http://support.ashford.edu under Office 365 / Student Email, or call 800.285.9796.
